My Favorite Tools
Dreams are a symbolic extension of our conscious thoughts. They reflect the knowledge of our subconscious, our intuitive selves. We process our life issues while we sleep, and dreams are a way to share solutions with our conscious awareness. Dreamwork brings the messages of dreams into the counselling experience. I use a step-by-step approach to help clients interpret their dreams.
Mindfulness is being aware of what you're sensing and feeling in the moment, without interpretation or judgment. Mindfulness-based strategies can help us see things more clearly and is proven to reduce stress, improve sleep, diminish the impact of chronic pain and lessen over-thinking.
Hypnotherapy is combining professional counselling with hypnosis. Clients are invited into a state of focused attention using guided meditation. This very relaxed and heightened state of awareness allows clients to more readily accept suggestions given by the counsellor. These suggestions are previously agreed upon by the client as part of the treatment plan. Hypnotherapy is a proven therapeutic approach.
